Howdy! Hondo here!
We're finally kickin' off the blog! YAHOO!! This is my first post here on Teen Minds, so to start off, I'd like to give a shot out to comrades: THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!
Now, to get things started, I'm gonna do a book review on an action-packed thriller series by James Patterson known as "Maximum Ride". So far there are five books in the series...
- The Angel Experiment
- School's Out-Forever
- Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports
- The Final Warning
- Max
Book 6, "Fang", is due to come out March 13th this year, if I remember correctly. There is also a movie on the first book to be released sometime this year, so stay tuned. (I, personally, am looking forward to that like you wouldn't BELIEVE!!)
Each book is at least three-hundred-and-forty-something pages, except for book 4, which is ridiculously short, but it is just as great as the rest. The books are about a group of six genetically-altered kids. They all have bird wings. (98% human, 2% bird.)
- The leader is Max. She is 14.
- Her right-hand-man is Fang. He is 14 as well.
- Iggy is the tallest of the group, but he is blind. He is 14 also.
- Nudge is 11, and she is black.
- The Gasman (a.k.a, Gazzy) and Angel are siblings, Gazzy being 8 and Angel being 6.
The series follows the exploits of this little group of birdkids, and it is written from the perspective of Max. I would describe a bit of the plot for you here, but I fear I've already given too much away as it is. ;-) you're just gonna have to read it for yourself!
I would give this book a rating of "T", for those ages 13 and up. But the series itself? DEFINITELY a five-star series. A must-read.
Well, that's it, I suppose. Look for my other posts and reviews.
